Omaha Skutt shuts down Hastings’ bats

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It was a pitchers dual between Hastings’ Braden Kalvelage and Omaha Skutt’s Cade Barton at Duncan Field this afternoon. Barton came out on top pitching a no-hitter while striking out seven batters.

Kalvelage struck out six batters. In the fourth inning the Tigers threatened as Cameron Brumbaugh drew a walk and Brayden Mackey was hit by a pitch, putting two-runners on with one out. Luke Brooks would ground into a double play to end the damage.

Nolan Connor and Nick Wiepen each had an RBI for the Skyhawks as they improve to 3-1. Tigers drop to 1-3.

Hastings plays Twin River on the road Saturday, March 27.
