HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Northshore Assembly of God in Hastings went big for Easter this year.

In addition to their traditional services at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, they had tons of snacks and fun activities for families. They also had inflatables, pony rides and Easter egg hunts.

The church didn’t get to celebrate last year like a lot of other places in 2020.

“This Easter is just completely different, full house in there, lot of fun outside has just been so refreshing to be able to come together and have a normal Easter celebration, celebrating Jesus raising from the dead and just having an awesome, awesome day like that,” Executive Pastor Arjay Johnson said.

They wanted to give back to the community after coming off a really tough year.

“After the year we’ve had, what a better way to just have a big event for kids, for families and after each service parents get to kind of go through the fun zone with their kids to get some candy, pet some bunnies, hold some baby chicks, and maybe ride some ponies,” Johnson said.

The church’s goal is to put all of their resources into their children’s ministry to elevate them and their families.
