HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - While winds will remain strong for pretty much everybody on Thursday, there will be a sharp contrast in weather across the state. Those winds will be between 15 and 30 mph. For western areas, there will be plenty of sunshine and much warmer temperatures. For areas east of Highway 281, there will be clouds along with a continued chance for showers. Expect cool weather in the east where highs will remain in the 50s. in the west, it’ll get to the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s. In between, look for a mix of clouds and sun in the Tri-Cities with highs in the low to mid 60s.

The last of the rain will push east out of Eastern Nebraska Thursday night into Friday morning. Skies will be partly cloudy and most will see their winds lighten up a bit. Low temperatures will slip back into the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s.

While the day Friday starts off with some sun, by the afternoon, a new chance for rain will move through from the northwest. This could last through Friday night, but should shift off to the by sunrise Saturday. Winds may pick back up again as this passes through, but should lighten up on Saturday. Saturday will features a lot of sunshine and lighter winds, making it the most pleasant day of our forecast. High temperatures on Friday will range from the lower 50s in the northwest to the mid 60s in the southeast. Saturday will mostly feature highs in the 60s.

Sunday will start off pleasant enough with sunshine and lighter winds, but a cold front will push through some time during the day from the northwest. Behind that, winds will become strong out of the northwest and cooler air will move in from the northwest. Any chance for rain right now looks to be confined to our northern counties. Highs on Sunday will range from the mid 50s northwest to near 70° southeast.

Cooler and breezy weather will return for early next week behind this front. Highs both Monday and Tuesday will mainly be in the 50s.
