HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Central Community College in Hastings and the Hastings Literacy Program have teamed up to offer free, adult education classes for people interested in obtaining their GED.

The program offers free GED testing, English as a second language classes and adult basic education reading and math classes. The classes take place Monday through Thursday in the mornings and evenings at the Head Start building in Hastings.

“When they earn their GED diploma they’re better prepared to get a job, retain employment, improve their status in current employment or even enter post-secondary education,” CCC Adult Education Coordinator Anne Cannon said.

Orientation is required to take the courses, once someone goes through orientation they will then get a date to enroll and figure out which courses and tests they may need to take.

Anyone interested can call 402-463-7323 or visit the Hastings Literacy website or CCC”s website.
