KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney High boys soccer lost to unbeaten Lincoln Southwest in the second edition of the Interstate-80 Challenge Cup, 2-1.

In the 23rd minute, Eli Rhodes was fouled by McKaden Smith, setting up a penalty kick that Rhodes slotted home. Right before halftime, Jackson Bokenkamp’s header off a cross tied the game, 1-1.

Lincoln Southwest dominated the second half. Braden Lackey scored the game winner in the 62nd minute as the Silverhawks improved to 9-0, while the Bearcats dropped to 4-4.

Kearney is home Tuesday, April 13 hosting Lincoln Southeast.
