Scotia woman arrested on possession charges
SHERMAN COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - A Scotia woman remains in custody after authorities arrested on drug charges.
According to the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled a black Toyota Avalon over around 1 a.m. Sunday on Ashton Avenue near 797th Road.
The deputy pulled over the driver, Margaret Kelly, 58, for a traffic violation.
The sheriff’s office said after making contact with the driver, Kelly attempted to conceal drug paraphernalia in the presence of the deputy.
During a probable cause search, authorities found a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and additional illegal narcotics.
Kelly was arrested for amphetamine possession, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and obstructing police.
A Valley County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted in the arrest.
She was taken to the Valley County Jail.
