HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - When two rivals meet on the diamond, anything can happen.

That’s exactly what went down at Duncan Field in Hastings on Monday night. In a defensive battle that saw spectacular plays from Hastings’ Trayton Newman and Justin Musgrave as well as Kearney’s Korben Rich, it was one costly error by Rich that sealed the game for the Tigers.

In the 4th inning, with two on and two out for Hastings, Rich had the chance to end the Tigers threat but threw wild to first base. Cash Roseberry snagged it but was unable to complete the tag, scoring the two Tigers base runners.

From there, Hastings plated two more in the later innings, and would go on to win, 4-0.
