Kernels earn tough road win over Adams Central

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Central City/Fullerton/Centura baseball earned a big road win this afternoon at Adams Central, 4-2. In a pitchers dual, Kernels’ pitcher Tres Gonsior went 6.1 innings striking out 10.

Patriot Lucas Gabriel struck out five to keep Adams Central in it throughout. The Patriots took the lead in the third inning, when Macrae Huyser stole third and Jackson McGinnis’ throw went into the outfield to give them a 1-0 lead.

It did not take long for the Kernels to respond in the top of the fourth, Jake Twiss’ 2-RBI double gave them the 3-1 lead they would never give up.

Kellen Fries came in the seventh to close out the game, as the Kernels improved its record to 14-4, while Adams Central’s record fell to 7-6.
