GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Tree Board celebrated Arbor Day with a ceremony on Friday at Pioneer Park.

They recognized seven winning trees and their owners with a certificate. Then, they demonstrated the correct way to plant a tree.

The Daughters of the American Revolution local chapter donated a fiesta sugar maple tree to be used in the demonstration and the Tree Board chose Pioneer Park to do it because they are trying to revamp the grounds.
