CAIRO, Neb. (KSNB) - A Cairo man died in a tragic accident Friday night.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Chad Osburn, 60, died from injuries after being struck by a pickup driven by his wife.

HCSO Captain Gregg Ahlers said deputies were called out to a home in the 500 block of Alexandria Street in Cairo just after 8 p.m.

Captain Ahlers said work was being done on a fence, when a pickup being used accelerated backwards. He said Osburn’s wife mistakenly reversed back, pinning her husband up against the house.

He was taken to CHI Health St. Francis, where he died.

Captain Ahlers said it was an accidental death so no charges are being filed against Osburn’s wife.
