GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man is in jail after police said he had a man threaten his estranged wife with a gun.

According to Grand Island Captain Dean Elliott, the incident happened Thursday when the victim’s estranged husband Faruk Maluahl, 36, had another man, Ashlong Philemon, 30, go over to the victim’s home in the 2300 Block of George Street to scare the woman.

According to Elliott, Philemon pointed a gun at the victim’s head and told her to drop the case against her estranged husband.

Elliott said Maluahl is set to be in court later in May on a domestic violence case from February involving the victim.

Maluahl was arrested for Tampering with Witness or Victim. Philemon has not yet been contacted but has also been referred for Tampering with Witness or Victim, Terrorist Threats and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
