HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Since 2002, Grand Island Senior High, Northwest, and Central Catholic have battled on the golf course for the GI Cup.

The past two years were cancelled, first in 2019 due to rain, then in 2020 because of the COVID-19. So today was a big day for Islander, Viking, and Crusader golfers.

When the dust settled, Grand Island’s Henry Kosmicki was atop the leaderboard, after shooting an even par 72.

In second place, was Central Catholic’s Willie Goering, who shot a 76. The Holling cousins, Marcus and Joey, finished in 3rd and 4th place respectively, and Central Catholic’s Bowdie Fox rounded out the top five.

Grand Island took home the cup, with a team score of 390. Central Catholic came in second place with a 309, and Northwest finished third with a 273.
