HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Javier Baide was been a force to be reckoned with this past season.

Scoring 24 goals, which tied him for first place in the state, his dominance on the offensive side of the ball helped lead Grand Island to a District A-4 championship, and a berth in the State Quarterfinals.

However, he wasn’t just a goal scoring machine. He had 10 assists, including two in the district championship game, feeding the ball to his teammates to give his team a chance.

It was that kind of selfless play, that helped the Islanders win District A-4 over Columbus, Baide’s favorite memory from the season.

“It was a pretty good game, the most intense game I’ve ever been in high school in my career,” said Baide. “I had a good performance having the 2 assists for Diego and then Cam, which might be one of the best performances I’ve had.”
