HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After winning District A-7, the Kearney Lady Bearcats found themselves facing a tough task in their State Quarterfinal matchup against Gretna.

The second seeded Dragons got out to an early 1-0 lead, after a failed clearance gave Gretna’s Sarah Weber a chance to knock it home.

The Lady Bearcats would claw back a few minutes later though. On the free kick from Abby Vancura, the Dragons try to head it away but instead it falls to Harley Straka, who heads it home to tie the game at one.

Unfortunately, the Dragons would get three more goals in the game, winning 4-1 and ending Kearney’s season.
