Former Grand Island football star to play in FCS Championship game
Caleb Francl hopes to win title in his freshman year at South Dakota State
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - When Caleb Francl was a senior at Grand Island High School, he dominated on the field.
With 14 total touchdowns, and 79 total tackles, Francl was a two-way player who could do it all. That earned him a spot at South Dakota State, where he is a linebacker for the Jackrabbits.
Now, in his freshman year, Francl has the chance to play for the FCS Championship.
“It’s just like, we’ve been really pumped all week,” said Francl. “This has been probably been the slowest week of practice all year. I think we’re all just really excited to get out on the field on Sunday.”
The Jackrabbits take on Sam Houston State on Sunday in Frisco, TX.
