HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After winning District B-8, the Lexington Minutemaids soccer team advanced to their first state tournament in school history.

They faced a tough opponent in the first round, as they took on the undefeated Norris Titans.

Minutemaids’ keeper Alyssa Winters saved multiple shots on the day, to keep Lexington in it the whole time. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, as Norris scores two goals to advance to the semifinals.

Despite the loss, the Minutemaids can hang their hats on the fact that they won 14 games this year, a school record. In the previous four years, they had won 14 games combined.

As the Minutemaids continue to progress this summer into next season, opponents will have to be on the lookout, for the girls from Lexington.
