NSP said the crash occurred when a Chevrolet Trail Blazer, driven by Colton Dawe, was traveling westbound on Highway 91 and failed to stop at the T-intersection with Highway 183. The vehicle drove through the intersection, into a vacant property, and truck a large tree.
Dawe, 18, was found deceased when first responders arrived on the scene. Passenger Austin Thompson, 15, suffered minor injuries and had begun walking eastbound on Highway 91 to seek help.
NSP are investigating the deadly crash, saying alcohol is suspected to be a factor. Seat belts were not in use.
