HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings Sodbuster baseball is back for its fourth season in the Expedition League. The Sodbusters are coming off its first winning season in program history last summer and look to build off that season this year.

The Sodbusters have a lot of local talent on this year’s roster, including four Hastings natives: Jacob Schroeder, Laif Hultine, Jacob Shaw and JT Cafferty.

Schroeder is coming off his first season at Washburn where he red-shirted to work on pitching and now he is excited to play with his former Tiger teammates.

“They’ve been my best friends growing up minus some that are going elsewhere but its just cool to play with my friends again,” Schroeder said.

“We’re tickled that we have the four kids from Hastings,” Sodbusters General Manager Scott Galusha said. “We have three kids from Grand Island and a kid from Kearney. That just kind of makes it nice to put those names on the roster. Not only are they going to be on the roster those are kids that we feel like are gonna compete for us and do good things.”

Hastings opens its season tomorrow hosting Fremont. First pitch set for 6:35 p.m. Their entire schedule can be found here.
