Gillming cracks top-10 in Class D, helps Elm Creek finish second in team race

NORTH PLATE, Neb. (KSNB) - Elm Creek’s Nathan Gillming entered the afternoon six-shots back of leader, Brendon Walker in Class D. Gillming struggled for most of the afternoon. He shot an 86 to finish in the top-10 tied for eighth at +18.

Walker started the day off rough but after chipping in for eagle on the sixth hole he never looked back claiming the Class D state title. He finished +2 and is heading to Hastings College next year to compete for the golf team.

Burwell’s Barak Birch cracked the top-10. He finished +20 after shooting 82′s both days.

North Platte St. Patrick’s ran away with the team title. They finished +69, 52 strokes better than second-place Elm Creek.
