Grand Island dominates Seward to win their third straight
Home Federals defeat Seward 12-0 in five innings
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - On yet another chilly day for baseball, the Grand Island Home Federals dominated their opponent once again.
This time the unfortunate foe was Seward, who couldn’t get anything going against the dominant pitching from Grand Island’s Riley Plummer. Add on the stellar defense from catcher Tyler Douglass, who threw out a Seward base runner in the first inning, and it was all Home Federals, all day long.
At the plate in the first inning, Eli Arends led off with a walk for the second straight game. The next batter, Caleb Coslor, smacked a shot into deep left field that would bring Arends home for the first run of the game. One batter later, Coslor was crossing home plate after a Seward wild pitch.
The Home Federals would continue to stay hot at the plate, as they went on to win 12-0 in five innings.
Grand Island would fall to Cheyenne in their second game of the day, 5-1. They’ll face off against Hastings Five Points Bank Chiefs tomorrow at 12:30 pm.
