Local high school football stars gear up for Nebraska Shrine Bowl

Both the North and South teams practiced on Monday for first time

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Some of the state’s best high school football talent are gathered in Kearney, for the 62nd Nebraska Shrine Bowl.

The Tri Cities is well represented on both teams:

North Team

Parker Janky - Northwest

Eric Lenz - Central City

Michael Maxon - Grand Island

Kelen Meyer - Ord

Tanner Schneiderheinz - Central City

Tommy Stevens - Ord

South Team

Brady Collingham -Aurora

Cale Conrad - Kearney Catholic

Quin Hale - York

Jameson Herzberg - Aurora

Jack Johnson - Kearney

Ayden King - Doniphan-Trumbull

Logan O’Brien - Kearney Catholic

Carson Shoemaker - Hastings

Tyler Slechta - Adams Central

Slade Smith - Adams Central

Kyle Sterup - Osceola

Gabe Van Winkle - Kearney

The Shrine Bowl is scheduled for 6 pm on Saturday at UNK’s Cope Stadium.
