HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It was a late start for Hastings and North Platte legion baseball at Duncan Field this evening. Chiefs starter Brayden Mackey gave up five hits and three runs to start off the game but dialed in afterwards. Mackey gave up on two hits and struck out five batters the rest of the way.

In the bottom of the first, Hastings got one-run back after a lead-off walk led to Gabe Conant advancing on a wild pitch from North Platte starter Tate Jonas to make it 3-1. With two outs, Justin Musgrave was called out on a controversial call by the home umpire as it appeared Musgrave was safe at the plate. The call ended the inning.

It did not end up mattering as the Chiefs came from behind scoring four-unanswered runs to win 4-3. They are back home tomorrow hosting Lexington at 7:30 p.m.
