HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - As summer approaches so does the time to enroll in Hastings Museum’s Summer Fun Classes which are centered around art, science, history and more.

The classes coming back means an entirely new slate of content to engage with and interact with for kids and students in the area.

“When you think, “Well what kind of classes does the museum offer?’ they usually center around themes of history, science and art and each year our education staff does an amazing job of coming up with a new set of those to roll out,” Marketing Director Becky Tideman said.

A few classes offered this year are “Stroke of Genius”, “History of Baseball”, “Under Construction”, “Famous Scientists” and “Paint Like Bob Ross”.

Enrollment for the classes closes the Monday before the next session begins, meaning on June 7th registration for the June 14th classes will end, on June 14th registration will end for June 21 classes and so on. The last session of classes takes place July 26-30.

Prices vary based on which class kids enroll in. The cost ranges from $30 to $50, however the museum does offer scholarship opportunities to help with the cost of the classes. More information on those can be received by calling the front desk at (402) 461 - 2399.

The early summer classes are light on enrollment so they may require a few kids to sign up to even take place whereas the later classes are full, or filling up, and may be split into two sessions. If a class says it’s full people should call the museum and ask to be added to a waiting list, Tideman said.
