Taste of Grand Island has new features
Two causes to benefit from annual event
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - It will be a night of good food, good drinks and good entertainment Saturday in Grand Island. And it’s all for a good cause - two actually.
The Grand Island Rotary and Leadership Tomorrow are teaming up for the 11th annual Taste of Grand Island. It’s from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Barn Bar, which is located in the Dinsdale Automotive building on the Fonner Park grounds.
Ryan Heavican, a board member of Leadership Tomorrow, visited with Local4 Today about the event.
“If you love barbecue, this is the one to come to,” said Heavican. “Hot Meals USA is providing prime rib, pulled pork sandwiches and brisket with baked beans and cole slaw as their sides.”
There will be eight local drink vendors for people to sample from, and - in a new addition this year - there will be live music featuring Mohana with Red Shoes.
Proceeds from the night go to the Rotary Club’s End Polio Now program, as well as the Youth Leadership Tomorrow program.
Heavican explained the Youth Leadership Program.
“We encourage high school students going from their sophomore to their junior year to apply,” said Heavican. “It’s teaches them leadership skills, it introduces them to the community, They do a project at the end of the year to better their community. So it’s just a really good developmental program.”
Advance tickets for $30 are available online at the Leadership Tomorrow website. They will be $35 at the door. You must be 21 to attend.
