HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The severe weather threat will push through the area around the daybreak hours Friday morning. In fact, severe weather may continue through the morning into Eastern Nebraska. During the afternoon, they will push southeast and out of the area. Overall, the threat for thunderstorms and severe weather will be greatest in the northern and eastern parts of Nebraska. The chances do get lower as you go to the southwest.

Sunshine will build in behind the storms and cold front from the west. Expect fairly blustery winds out of the north at 15 to 25 mph behind the cold front. It will draw in some cooler, but still warm air to the area. Highs will mostly be in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. Dew points should also be lower, so it won’t be nearly as muggy. With clear skies Friday night, expect a cooler and more comfortable night with lows in the 50s and lower 60s.

Temperatures will heat right back up this weekend after the pleasant start Saturday morning. Highs on Saturday will be back to the mid to upper 80s to around 90°. Expect plenty of sunshine. On Sunday, warmer low to mid 90s are expected. A slight chance for rain and thunderstorms returns Sunday night with a continued slight chance through Tuesday morning. If storms do develop during the day, they could have an influence on our high temperatures. For now, it looks like the Monday through Wednesday time from will be hot. Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry. High temperatures for much of next week will mostly be in the low to mid 90s.
