HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After a successful season, that saw the Wood River girls basketball team make their first State tournament since 1990, the Eagles righfully have representative in the Tom Dinsdale/Striv All-Star game.

Boston Boucher, Kiernan Paulk, and Hannah Paulk will all suit up for the Hyundai Team, and they’ll have a familiar face as their coach.

Wood River head coach Phil Smith was given the honor to be the head coach of the Hyundai team, after leading the Eagles to that tournament berth.

“It’s an honor and a blessing you know, God gave me lots of talents so it’s just been a lot of fun to coach these girls,” Smith said. “It’s the girls, the girls are the reason why I go coach, because they did what they did on the court, so then I could go coach in this All-Star game. It’ll be a lot of fun.”

The girls game is scheduled to tip off at 5 pm on Saturday, followed by the boys game. Both games will be held at Grand Island Central Catholic.
