HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Sodbusters came into Friday night’s game, winners of their last two against the Fremont Moo.

A new opponent, the Western Nebraska Pioneers, rolled into town for a three game series this weekend.

Things were looking up for the Sodbusters early, as Jeremy Schneider struck out the side in the top of the 2nd inning. Then, things would take a turn for the worse.

After walking the bases loaded in the top of the 3rd, Western Nebraska’s Cade McGee almost knocks one out of Duncan field, as his hit scores two Pioneers.

Western Nebraska would go on to win the game, 9 to 5. Game two of the series will be Saturday at 6:35 pm.
