HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It has been a long time for many people when it comes to visiting loved ones in long-term care facilities. That is changing fast as more and more areas work their way back to what is now passing as “normal”.

Courtney Luebben from Good Samaritan Village in Hastings visited with Local4 News on some general guidelines people should consider if a visit is in their future.

Luebben recommends people call ahead to make sure what their individual facility may have for their own guidelines. For example, some may have specific visiting hours to assist them and their staffing levels.

Many facilities will allow vaccinated people visit someone who is also vaccinated in their rooms without wearing a face mask. However, masks are still generally required in common areas.

“Please know the inconveniences were asking of you are minor in perspective to what’s to come”, said Luebben.

Luebben said that everyone’s top priority continues to be the protection of the well-being the residents.
