Frost travels to Central Nebraska for “Big Red Blitz”
Nebraska coaches travel to 20 cities across the state for Big Red Blitz
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The University of Nebraska’s “Big Red Blitz” was back after Covid-19 canceled last year’s. The first version of the blitz held back in 2019. The event splits Husker coaches into 10 groups where they visit two cities for a total of 20 cities spread all over Nebraska.
Head football coach Scott Frost and assistant men’s basketball coach Nate Loenser were paired traveling to North Platte in the morning before heading to Kearney. For Frost being back in Central Nebraska, he was able to reminiscence about his days growing up in the Tri-Cities.
“Most of the time we went to Grand Island. It was a little closer but we probably liked coming to Kearney a little better so. Went to Hastings sometimes,” Frost said. “This is kind of home for me. Always exciting to be back. On the way home I might stop at Casey’s on Highway 30 in Wood River and get a piece of pizza and a strawberry milk.”
Frost opened his Q&A to questions from the public and was asked anything from offensive line depth to if he plans to go to any summer concerts this summer.
The one-day event wrapped up this afternoon.
