HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - With the NCAA handing down it’s new Name, Likeness, and Licensing agreement, things are changing for the UNK Lopers athletic department.

Athletic Director Marc Bauer says UNK supports the new agreement, and are working closely with the MIAA conference to make sure everything runs smoothly.

A big concern for Bauer and UNK, is keeping the athletes’ eligibility intact.

“We want to make sure our student athletes are not doing something that’s going to jeopardize their eligibility,” said Bauer. “At the same token, we don’t want to do something on our end that’s going to cause something negative happening with the student athlete’s eligibility as well, so we’re trying to get a good handle on things.”

Right now, several athletes have expressed interest in creating their own brand, or discovering marketing opportunities, to the school.
