HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After dominating the Western Division of the Cornhusker League, Hastings Johnson Imperial Homes found themselves in the League Championship game Monday night.

Their opponent would be Gretna Post 216, who won the Eastern Division fairly handily, but this game wasn’t even close.

In the first, terrific defense from Cameron Brumbaugh and lights out pitching from Daeton Espino kept the score tied at 0 apiece.

In the bottom of the first, JIH would explode for four runs, behind RBI’s from Braden Rutt and Braden Demuth, to take a 4-0 lead.

Espino continued his domination of the Gretna hitters, only allowing three hits and striking out five in the game, and JIH defeats Gretna 8-0 in five innings to win the Cornhusker League Juniors Championship.
