HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -IdeaBank Marketing finished up their 24-hour inaugural ‘Ideathon’ Friday where they helped out the Multicultural Coalition.

The Grand-Island-based nonprofit organization helps immigrants get comfortable while they settle into their new homes in central Nebraska. The organization asked for help perfecting their annual ‘Immigrant Story Walk’ coming up Nov. 13, 2021.

While IdeaBank presented the final product of the new-and-improved event the Multicultural Coalition leaders got a bit teary-eyed.

Daniel Petersen, deputy director for the organization said he is grateful for the gift they’ve received.

“We have not ever had a great company like IdeaBank Marketing, who put so much investment, this donation of time and resources, into a project like this, so it’s just amazing,” Petersen said.

Ideathon started at 11 a.m. Thursday and was supposed to finish up at 11 a.m. Friday.

Anthony May, co-owner and art director for IdeaBank said the team surprisingly finished up a little before their scheduled time.

“Two or three hours on the logo and then we went and filmed the video, and then I came back and designed the website and got that to the programmers,” May said. “And yeah, it was kind of a blur but, pretty much from noon until 2 a.m. — 3 a.m. — I’m not sure exactly when I stopped working.”

The Multicultural Coalition and IdeaBank said tickets for the Immigrant Story Walk would be available for purchase online soon.
