Teams go head to head for 2021 Grand Island Games
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Teams went head to head for the Grand Island YMCA and the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Grand Island Games. There were ten teams competing for first place but only one came out on top.
This was the second and final day of the games. They started at Northwest High School in the morning and then headed to Westside Bowling Lanes to play volleyball, tug-of-war, billiards and of course bowling.
The Win or Booze team was there and competes every year just for fun.
“We’re just a group of friends that we like to do this every year and we’re super competitive and it’s just nice to come around and hang with the people that you know and enjoy having fun with,” said Team Captain Laura Johanson.
Win or booze out of all the years they’ve been doing it haven’t took the overall title.
“I hope we can win it this year, you know, in the last few years we’ve always got in second place and so we always just keep trying for first,” Johanson said.
Johnson and her team were the top two to beat but only one took home bragging rights and the trophy.
