Pedal tractor pull competition at Buffalo County Fair
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - There were tons of brave faces who competed in the annual Pedal Tractor Pull competition at the Buffalo County Fair on Sunday.
Children ages four to 12-years-old pedaled with all their might to get down the runway in the Exhibit Building at the Adams County Fairgrounds.
This was no easy task, especially since they were pulling actual weights. The farther they got down the lane, the heavier it got.
“It starts out real light and then as the participant pedals the tractor and goes forward, the box goes up on the incline and puts more weight on the plate in the front, so that makes it heavier and tougher for them to go,” said Pedal Tractor Competition Volunteer Kaleb Senff.
Four-year-old Brooklyn Bailey wasn’t fazed at all because she actually won first place out of all the girls.
“She did really good,” Brooklyn’s mom Justina Bailey said. “We have a pedal tractor at home and it has a trailer and she carries her brother around and halls a bunch of stuff in the trailer.”
The top three girls and boys who pulled the farthest get to compete in the state competition at the Nebraska State Fair next month. Bailey will get to put her skills to the test against the best and strongest peddlers in the state.
