HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The hits keep on coming for Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus in the Nebraska Legion Class C State Tournament, and it is resulting in winning baseball.

Monday marked the third round of tournament play with DCB playing host to Louisville-Weepingwater. Despite allowing two runners on in the top of the first, DCB pitcher Bosten Caspersa escaped the jam with an inning-ending strikeout.

The DCB bats got going right away, putting up three runs in the first inning to storm out to a 3-0 lead. It was not all offense, though, as shortstop Carter Noakes made a highlight diving catch midway through DCB’s 5-2 victory.

With the win, DCB advances to the fourth round of the tournament, which will be played at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
