Axe Holes hosts teacher appreciation night
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - With the first day of school right around the corner, Axe Holes bar in Grand Island hosted a teacher appreciation night to start them off on the right foot.
They were invited out for a three hour teacher only block from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. where they not only got to ax throw, but also were able to take home as much free school supplies as they wanted.
“I think they were surprised at how much they were getting and that felt good,” Co-Owner Eric Christensen said.
They were able to buy supplies with donations from other local businesses.
Christensen said it was the least they can do for all teachers do for us.
“They do a lot more for us then we realize, especially through the pandemic last year,” he said. “They were asked to step outside their comfort zones and do a lot of online teaching, online learning. It wasn’t easy for the parents so it couldn’t have been easy for the teachers. This is our way of giving back and they’re responding well. We’re excited to do it again.”
Christensen said they do hope to bring this event back each year at both their Grand Island and Kearney locations.
