HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - With lower humidity and slightly cooler temperatures it will be fairly nice afternoon. High temperatures this afternoon will top out in the low to mid 80s around the area. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with the best chance for showers and thunderstorms far out west. There will be a slight chance in Central Nebraska after midnight. Low temperatures for early Saturday morning will drop into the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s just before sunrise.

Saturday should be another fairly nice day as temperatures once again climb into the low to mid 80s. There will be some upper 80s out west. There will still be a chance of rain and thunderstorms. If anything falls Friday night, there could be some lingering activity in the morning. Otherwise, a few more showers and thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Some of those may linger into Sunday morning with less of a chance in the afternoon. Highs on Sunday will again mostly be in the low to mid 80s, but out west it will continue to be a little warmer with highs into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

A continues slight chance for showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday and temperatures will continue to mostly hover in the low to mid 80s. It’s now looking like Wednesday may remain dry and warm up a little ahead of the next approaching cold front. That front will provide for what looks to be a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night through Thursday night. It’ll also bring a shot of cooler air for the end of next week where highs may only be in the 70s.
