NEAR DONIPHAN, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island woman was injured Friday morning in a crash between a passenger car and a tanker truck.

The Hall County Sheriff’s office told Local4 the accident happened around 8:00 AM on Highway 281 one mile south of Doniphan.

The sheriff’s office said a Kenworth tanker had turned onto south-bound 281 from a gravel road when it was struck on the driver’s side bumper and tire by a Toyota Camry. The passenger car rolled and came to rest on its side in the passing lane of south-bound 281. The car’s driver, Morgan Urbanski, 21, of Grand Island, was taken to CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island with unspecified injuries, but a sheriff’s spokesman said they were not believed to be life threatening. The truck’s driver, Timothy Green, 59, of Wood River, was uninjured.

The accident tied up traffic in the south-bound lane of 281. Traffic was diverted to Binfield Road after the accident. Normal traffic was restored about an hour later. Numerous emergency vehicles and patrol cars were on scene including Hall County Sheriff’s deputies, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Doniphan Quick Response Team.
