HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Quiet weather is expected tonight under hazy skies as a warm front pushes toward the east through the area. It’ll be slightly warmer tonight with overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Another day of sunshine, albeit with some smoky haze, will lead to a hot one for Friday. Widespread 90s are expected with some triple digits in western parts of the area. Expect another quiet night with warmer temperatures Friday night. Low temperatures by early Saturday morning will only drop into the mid to upper 60s.

On Saturday, a cold front will begin diving southward toward Northern Nebraska. With the timing of the cold front slowing down, 90′s will be prevalent across the state. Low 90s far north, mid 90s west and upper 90s to triple digits elsewhere. If you plan to head to the Husker game, it’ll get into the upper 90s and possibly above 100°. So make sure you are doing what you can to keep your body temperatures cooler, including drinking plenty of water.

As the cold front continues to push southward Saturday night, a few isolated showers and thunderstorms can’t be ruled out. Cooler temperatures will move in for Sunday with highs ranging from the upper 70s north to the upper 80s south. The cold front reverses course Sunday night, so warmer temperatures return on Monday. Highs on Monday will range from the mid 80s north to the mid 90s south. Another cold front will push southward Monday night, giving the area another shot of cooler air. Highs on Tuesday will be in the 70s and lower 80s. Expect similar highs on Wednesday. Slight chances for rain and isolated thunderstorms will continue off and on from Sunday through Wednesday.
