HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The first week of October is here and our first Top 5 Plays of the month is a doozy!

This week, Doniphan-Trumbull football takes top honors.

  1. Doniphan-Trumbull played Hastings St. Cecilia on Friday night. Cardinals defensive back Myles Sadd snagged a one-handed interception off a Bluehawks miscue.
  2. Grand Island Central Catholic volleyball is a regular fixture in our Top 5 Plays and senior Chloe Cloud is at it again. This time, a kick save over the net earned her the second spot on our list.
  3. Sandy Creek football hosted Sutton in an afternoon game on Friday. Cougars quarterback Ethan Shaw tossed a touchdown pass to Micah Biltoft, who skied over his defender for the catch.
  4. Hastings softball competed in the Aurora triangular this past week against the Huskies and Grand Island Central Catholic. The Tigers went on a home run parade and Delaney Mullen, Kaitlin Laux and Faith Molina are all featured.
  5. Bruning-Davenport-Shickley played Kenesaw in our 5th Quarter Game of the Week on Friday. Eagles defensive lineman Adam Alfs stuffed a run play and forced a strip that he cradled to give possession back to BDS.
