HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Some clouds have made their way into the eastern part of our viewing area thanks to a meandering upper level low over Missouri. We will see mostly clear skies overnight as temperatures fall into low 50s tomorrow morning. Winds overnight will be generally out of the southeast between 5 to 10 mph.

Warmer air starts to return on Thursday with highs getting back into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. Winds will again be on the breezy side as they’ll be out of the south southeast at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. It’ll be warmer on Friday with partly to mostly sunny skies. High temperatures for most will reach the mid 80s with a few upper 80s possible in southwest Nebraska. Saturday will still be warm for most ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs will range from the upper 70s northwest to the upper 80s in the southeast. With partly cloudy skies, it will also be a bit on the breezy side. The cold front will pass through the area Saturday night, bringing a slight chance for showers.

Sunday will be a cooler day for the area, but not chilly for this time of the year. High temperatures will range from the upper 60s northwest to the mid 70s in the southeast. Along with partly cloudy skies, a slight chance for rain will still be possible closer to the front in the southeast. Sunday night, an area of showers will lift northeastward into the area. As of right now, the latest trends keep the better chance of rain over southeastern parts of the Local4 viewing area. If this trends farther northwestward in the coming days, we’ll have to bring up the chance for rain Sunday night into Monday morning. Most of Monday and Tuesday will be dry. Highs on Monday will be back into the upper 60s and low to mid 70s. Tuesday will be a bit warmer as temperatures will mostly be in the 70s around the area. Winds will begin to pick up on Tuesday ahead of a strong storm system approaching from the southwest. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over the area Tuesday night and may continue into Wednesday. This could also open the door for a chance of severe storms during this time. As the storm system clears out Wednesday night into Thursday morning, cooler temperatures will fill in for the end of the week.
