GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - In a rare year where Millard North is not a title contender, Grand Island did what it needed to in a 31-20 win over the Mustangs.

The Islanders led 14-7 in the third quarter, but Millard North looked like they tied the game with a long punt return for a touchdown. However, a pesky offside penalty negated the TD, and in this game, the flags wouldn’t stay away.

GI’s Kytan Fyfe connected with Brandon Fox for a long first down play, and it was defensive pass interference they overcame. Moments later, Fyfe found Dylan Sextro for the score and the Islanders cruised from there.
