HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Skies have cleared up some across the northeastern half of the area, but clouds remain farther southwest. Along with that, there have been some patchy areas of fog. There will continue to be more areas of sunshine farther north and east with more clouds farther south and west. The far southwestern parts of the area may even get clipped by some very light moisture. Temperatures will remain on the chilly side today, but will end up a bit warmer for areas that do see some sun to the east and northeast. Highs will range from the upper 30s to the upper 40s. Thicker cloud cover will build in overnight. Perhaps some light drizzle will be common. There may be a bit more clearing in the east and west. Those areas will be a bit colder tonight with lows in the mid to upper 20s. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s under thicker clouds.

Clouds will gradually shift from Central into Eastern Nebraska on Wednesday while skies will be clearing up in the west. There will be some partial clearing in Central Nebraska later in the day. Look for high temperatures on Wednesday ranging from the mid 40s east to the mid 50s west. Skies will continue to clear up Wednesday night, but some fog may develop early Thursday morning. Look for low temperatures Wednesday night into the mid 20s to mid 30s with the warmest lows in the east.

Expect mostly sunny skies on Thursday as temperatures continue to warm up. We’ll see highs from the mid 50s east to the low/mid 60s west. Friday will continue to be mostly sunny, but a stronger south wind is going to develop. It will be warmer with highs from the upper 50s to the upper 60s from east to west, but the wind will make it feel a little less pleasant. South winds will be around 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph. The wind will take a northwesterly turn later in the day as a weak cold front comes through. Despite the front, it’ll actually be warmer on Saturday as the winds turn back out of the south. Highs on Saturday will make it to the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. Highs on Sunday will again mostly be in the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. It’ll be a touch cooler on Monday with partly to mostly sunny skies. Highs will range from the upper 50s north to the upper 60s southwest.
