Senator Blood talks about her run for governor
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Nebraska State Senator Carol Blood entered the race for Nebraska governor in September. She faces stiff competition from Republicans also in the race.
She says healthcare is a big priority for her, but it needs to be a more comprehensive plan for holistic health.
“Make sure we are we are addressing not only the healthcare needs, but the mental health care needs that they’re experiencing in rural Nebraska and right now rural Nebraska is experiencing a mental health crisis and they don’t have the services available to them to get the help that they need,” Blood said.
She says another need for rural Nebraskans is broadband internet.
“We have to remember we would have had broadband a long time ago, but the reason rural Nebraska did not have broadband internet, is because it wasn’t profitable for the big corporations,” Blood said.
