HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Increasing clouds as we head into the early predawn hours of Friday. Winds will remain a bit breezy overnight, helping to keep temperatures up a bit and inhibit fog from developing in most areas. Lows tomorrow morning will range from the mid to upper 30s out west to the lower 40s elsewhere.

A few clouds early will give way to sunny skies Friday afternoon. Winds will be on the breezy side out of the southwest at 15 to 20 mph with some gusts to 25 in the early afternoon. They’ll turn more northwesterly to the north and west as a surface trough passes through the region. Winds will also be breezy in those locations where the trough passes. Meanwhile, high temperatures will improve ranging from the lower 60s east to the lower 70s west. Skies will remain mostly clear Friday night with lows dropping into the mid to upper 30s.

The weekend should be turn out to be quite nice, although Saturday will be breezy. Both days should be mainly sunny. Highs on Saturday will make it to the upper 60s and low to mid 70s (warmest southwest). High temperatures on Sunday will mostly be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Temperatures will cool down on Monday, but remain near to a little above average. Highs will range from the mid 50s northwest to the mid 60s southeast. Skies are still expected to be partly to mostly sunny. It gets a bit cloudier and cooler on Tuesday. Highs will mostly be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will also be a bit breezy. There’s a very small chance of rain. There’s a slightly better chance of rain on Wednesday and temperatures will be a little cooler yet. Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s. The trend of dropping temperatures will continue into the end of the week.
