HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Clear skies overnight with winds will remaining a bit on the breezy side out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph overnight. Low temperatures tonight will mostly be in the 30s across much of the region.

The last two days of the work week will mostly be about strong winds. But colder temperatures and a little snow will also be a part of the forecast. There will be a strengthening low pressure system to our north in North Dakota and Minnesota. With the low strengthening, northwesterly winds will pick up during the day Thursday. Winds will be around 20 to 40 mph with gusts as high as 40 to 55 mph. The strongest winds will likely be in North Central to Northeast Nebraska. High temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 40s northwest to the mid 50s south and east. Winds will remain blustery overnight Thursday night. A jet streak may bring some very light moisture to far southwest parts of the Local4 viewing area. Otherwise, the next concerns is some light snow clipping northern and eastern parts of the Local4 viewing area heading into Friday. While amounts should be fairly limited, blowing snow could be an issue as northwesterly winds will be just as strong on Friday as on Thursday. Meanwhile, colder air will be diving south into the area on Friday. Highs will range from the mid 30s northeast to the upper 40s southwest.

There’s a small chance of very limited moisture later Saturday night into Sunday morning. Much of this will be light rain, possibly mixing with snow. Amounts should be minimal. Otherwise, much of the weekend will be dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Winds will still be breezy over the weekend, but more in the 10 to 20 mph range. Highs on Saturday will range from the mid 40s east to the mid 60s west. On Sunday, they’ll range from the mid 40s northeast to the upper 50s southwest.

Temperatures will climb a bit Monday and Tuesday with a bit more sunshine expected. Highs on Monday will range from the mid 50s east to around 70° west. Highs on Tuesday will be in the 60s with some lower 70s west. It does look a little breezy Tuesday. After Tuesday, temperatures will come back down for the middle and end of next week.
