Foodie Friday: Fall salad is a healthy alternative for a holiday dish

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - If you are looking to eat healthy during the holiday season, Brittany “The Salad Girl” introduces a fun to make and healthy dish you can try called her “fall salad.”

Ingredients:

Two handfuls of mixed greens

One roasted sweet potato- chopped

One chopped apple

One sliced red onion

Craisins

Pecans

Sunflower seeds

Pumpkin seeds

Dressing:

1/4 of a cup of olive oil

1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar

Maple syrup to your liking

Salt and pepper to taste

After you have the ingredients together, add the salad and dressing ingredients into a jar and shake them together well.

After shaking the jar, the salad is ready to eat.
