GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Bike enthusiasts and new bike buyers alike yet again have a bike shop in Grand Island. The Alive Outside opened its doors to the public after the long time bike shop, Wayne Cyclery, closed earlier this year.

But as one shop closes and another one opens, there is still remnants of Wayne Cyclery that remain. One of those is Alive Outdoors’ service manager Carlos Sanchez.

“Just to be involved in the cycling in Grand Island was something I wanted to do and continue to do and still look forward to doing,” Sanchez said. “Here we are brand new, we are coming from a shop in North Platte, I mean the main thing is getting our name out there letting people know we are here and we offer with the same degree of service Wayne did.”

Alive Outside traces its roots back to North Platte were the original location is. The management at the new bike shop hopes people will bring their cycling needs to them, instead of the big stores.

Alive Outside is located at 3421 W. State Street Plaza 6 in Grand Island.
