HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Well above average temperatures are in the forecast for Tuesday. A cold front arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday which will lead to a chilly Thanksgiving. Precipitation chances are looking very slim through the end of the week.

An upper level ridge will build into the area Tuesday. That in combination with south winds at 15 to 25 mph and gusts to 35 mph will lead to well above average temperatures for late November. It looks to be warm enough that near-record high temperatures are likely for much of the area. Highs should be in the mid 60s around 70.

It looks to be breezy Wednesday with north-northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 40s to mid 50s.

Thanksgiving (Thursday) should be mostly sunny and chilly for Eastern and Central Nebraska with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Western Nebraska looks to be milder with high temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. It will not be as breezy either.

Above average temperatures return for Friday and the weekend with highs in the 50s and 60s. There could be some sprinkles or light rain showers Saturday, but the chance is less than 10%.
