The Hastings Salvation Army help feed the community on Thanksgiving
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Salvation held their annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Adams County Fairground Thursday afternoon.
The event was take out only, so people got their traditional turkey dinner in a to go container. This was one of the precautions the Hastings Salvation Army took to keep people safe during COVID.
Organizers were happy with the turnout of the community to the fairgrounds. Major Dale Brandenburg said the it even got cheers from the volunteers working.
“Well today has been another fantastic year. In the first hour of people showing up we have had 370 meals go out the door already in the first hour,” Brandenburg said.
The event at the fairgrounds was fully staffed by volunteers.
